Japanese (JAPN)

JAPN 101  - Beginning Japanese I  (3 Credits)  

Develop students’ skills in speaking, aural comprehension, reading and writing. Practice includes such topics as shopping, invitations, eating at restaurants, family interactions, and annual seasonal festivals.

JAPN 102  - Beginning Japanese II  (3 Credits)  

Prerequisite: JAPN 101 or equivalent. Develop students’ skills in speaking, aural comprehension, reading and writing. Practice includes such topics as shopping, invitations, eating at restaurants, family interactions, and annual seasonal festivals.

JAPN 201  - Intermediate Japanese I  (3 Credits)  

Prerequisite: JAPN 102 or equivalent. Develops students’ skills in speaking, aural comprehension, reading and writing. Practice includes such topics as travel, cooking, gifts, health care, employment and future plans.

JAPN 202  - Intermediate Japanese II  (3 Credits)  

Prerequisite: JAPN 201 or equivalent. Develops students’ skills in speaking, aural comprehension, reading and writing. Practice includes such topics as travel, cooking, gifts, health care, employment and future plans.

JAPN 300  - Advanced Intermediate Japanese Topics  (3 Credits)  

Prerequisite: JAPN 202 or equivalent. This course will strengthen and develop students’ language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking to the advanced intermediate level, and will cover important topics of contemporary Japanese culture.
